sswc08

Aaaaah nostalgia....Outside magazine just came out with an article about sswc08 in Napa CA. Its a great one! Check it out! Luce Goods was launched at that race and it will always hold a special place in my heart. Not to mention i got to design Curtis Inglise's , of Inglis/Retrotec bikes, suit apptly dubbed "the Lucenhosen", below is a picture of my sweet crizzle donning the battle wounds from wearing the suit for the race. Here are a few pics to take us down memory lane...

lost my camera

In honor of me loosing my camera at the fair today, i will not be posting any pictures in this entry. Just imagine if you will my beautiful daughters and i riding all the favorite rides with exhuberant looks on our faces, hair blowing in the wind and sunburns on the backs of our necks. Now picture us if you will eating all the things associated with the fair such as corn dogs, shoe string french fries, churros, ice cream...and finally the girls sitting patiently awaiting there turn to get wee tiny, we were on a budget, henna tattoos on their wee tiny for arms.

An excellent day for sure. Now for some camera shopping...

okay one picture but a random one.

dirt crits and a sweet bag

Here is my latest bag i made last week. Its made out of yummy vintage barkcloth my good friend neil gifted me. Turned out pretty good if i do say so myself.

In other news here are a few pics from the dirt crits. The dirt crits is put on by the bike peddler/norcal bike sport and happens every wednesday here in the summer in Howarth Park. If you are from around here and have never been i highly recommend it. Its good clean family fun.

The course is about a mile and a half loop and the idea is too go around as many times as your lungs, legs, and head will let you. There are many different categories, including a kick ass juniors section, so everyone can participate.

You never know what you'll find at the dirt crits. Last week we had an amazing sound system, courtesy of carlos from bike monkey, and sometimes we even get celebrity sightings....

p.s:

Is there some magical way to move pictures on this thing. I've spent the last hour moving picture because i can't seem to able to get them where i want them. Finally I had all my pix lined up just so throughout my post and when i went to preview and publish they came out all crazy and scattered. Seriously?...what am i doing wrong...kenji?

New hats!

Wow i hadn't realized it had been that long since i posted my last blog! Time flies when you are ridiculously busy. So between quitting my day job, sending my oldest daughter to france with her grandparents for two weeks (gulp), and doing all the other end of school year jazz...i finally managed to sit down and make these hats.

As per usual they are all made of recycled fabrics found around town. The cycling fabric on the two penny hat was given to me by my dear friend Missa. An awesome find for sure. You can peep Missa's blog on my "luce likes links" under thrift candy. She has excellent taste!

The other fun fabric i have was custom screen printed for me by my friend Wade who is the mastermind behind SCAREA. You may have seen the stickers around town. He had a screen printing party at his shop last friday complete with Max Wordlow as dj and cocktails galore. A magical time for sure. Bellow are some pictures of Wade and Max hard at work...

All hats are $30 dollars plus shipping and handling. If i don't have the one you like left i still have some of those fabrics and can make more. Now on too bags....oh yeah and i will be out of town until the 7th of july visiting the mid west and my boy Crizzle's family...

You can click on my flickr link to see all my other hats. There are some new bags there too...
